The Persistence of Memory
This is a piece about memory and the act and process of thinking. Within the frame are two plexi-glass plates seperated bye a quarter inch. So it goes wood, .25", plexi, .25", plexi. Each layer contains photos, etching into the plexi, paint, pencil, markers, wax, highlighters, decals, stickers, tape, glues, sanding and the wood trim. The bottom contains a blacklight that which bounces throughout the piece due to the reflective walls within on the edges. It is meant to completely change the painting when lit, it hits etchings and colors that were near invisible before. This work is 4' x 4'.
